Very good player, why did west Brom let him go?
I don’t think it’s revisionism. He was never a leader and was vastly overpriced. If we had bought him for 20m, the numbers he returned would be considered good. That’s not his fault though.Appreciate the state we’re in and when you mix that with a healthy dose of frustration and relegation fear we’re left with the what ifs and must dos….. what I don’t get it the revisionism around Gylfy. He was never good enough to carry or lead the team and I don’t agree that blaming everyone around him nullified him I think it just highlighted his shortcomings.
He’ll probably go down as one of the biggest wastes of money in the clubs history and the way he finished it all off just added to the disaster of his signing.
I would edit that last word buddy.Where's our striker kev ye nonce
A great passer with good vision. Good technical ability and able to operate under tight pressure. Our winger will get plenty of long diagonal ball and DCL will benefit from his frequent through balls.Had a relegation clause in his contract if I remember correctly. Was around the £20m mark.
I wouldn't say he's 'very good'. He's kind of passable, which may be as good as we can get at the moment.Very good player, why did west Brom let him go?

But he created chances and could pick a pass out of nothing, which on numerous occasions helped to pull a result out for us.
24 goals and 17 assists (in the league) over 4 seasons. None of our current midfielders or wide forwards players will get near that record. Not sure any of our strikers will either.
So let’s not pretend he didnt contribute and was a waste of money. We need a player with his capabilities now.
I don’t particularly disagree but he’d walk into this team and be by far the most dangerous player in and around the box - that’s how bad this current lot are.
Paging Everton
Disagree - he was crap. The problem with Siggurdson was that he had no pace or athleticism. Which would have been fine except we surrounded him with the likes of Rooney, Klaasen, Gomes, Allan, James, Davies, Schnederlin, Bernard etc.
Probably assembled the slowest, least mobile/athletic midfield in history at a point when the rest of the teams in the league were getting faster.
Siggurdson would have been fine in a team with pace and runners around him. Had quality in and around the box, was a cool and composed finisher, good set piece delivery - miles better than our options now.
Is Nkounkou still with us? Thought he was already out on loan somewhereAnyway……..

We have to ask if he is any good why he is playing in a money league. I don’t like these kind of no-mark signing. Signing these kind of players mean we are heading to the Championship.Very good player, why did west Brom let him go?
Attitude issues apparently. Wouldn't give 'Brom the time of day after they exited the Prem and he kinda got frozen out.Very good player, why did west Brom let him go?
