Unfortunately, given our current predicament, we have to have one eye on preserving the existence of the club given that Championship football is a likely outcome from this season.

Even if we sell Gordon we may be wise to stick to loans.

If it helps with FFP, I'd be touting Pickford (Begovic more than good enough for Championship), Godfrey and Onana around to sell before end of window.

Begovic, Patterson, Holgate, Branthwaite, Mykolenko is good enough for a mid-table finish in the Championship next season.

Gueye, Iwobi and Davies might be alright as a midfield three, and Maupay with Simms up front. Maybe use McNeil as a number 10.

Only question for me is which of the three relegation places we'll finish in, not that it really matters.

We've already established an ok Championship squad, but will need some decent additions if we want a shot at promotion next season.

There's definitely a school of thought that says this is the way to go. It will clear our debt and leave a clean slate for a new owner. They then have a couple of seasons to get us back up in time for the new stadium.

We’re absolute crap and we weren’t winning a game under Lampard but amazingly we’re one good weekend of results away from being 14th place - this isn’t over yet.

Rather than selling players that could keep us up like Pickford and Onana I would rather we:
Get in a new manager
Get reported 35m for Gordon
Hopefully manage to scrape some money for players like Keane who aren’t playing
Invest in a few new players who fit the new managers style (runners if it’s Bielsa)
Win more games than three other teams in the bottom seven over the remaining fixtures
Have a huge rebuild in the summer and enjoy the fact we’re losing some more high earners who has expiring contracts

If we don’t make a change we’re absolutely going down but I don’t think we’re down to the point we should entertain selling Pickford of all people. Gordon for 30+ if we can reinvest is a great deal for us though
