Ehh, what?

Regardless of what you think of the guy, logically the squad is still one midfielder short, selling him means we need two.

Arsenal need a striker more than anything and can't afford that at the moment. This is agent-talk, nothing more.
Can see them looking at him tbh as the the third mid but agree said was short of money before this. Could just be testing us to see how strong the club is with the ffp trouble we have had. But agree with you just a massive risk would need one mid to come in and woukd be put straight into the team now. Just dont kno if i trust the club to grt it right, every player does have a price but has to be a good deal

Don't think it's that controversial of a statement. I'd probably say Garner, Gana and Doucoure are our best choice midfield at the minute? I think we definitely need depth but that's not what I'm saying. If you look at our best XI when everyone is fit I'm not 100% sure that Onana gets into it and I think that's fair. I still think that he'll go on to be an unreal player when he's about 25 and will probably be in a title challenging side by then.

He's on par with Garner, Gana is toast and should be the depth player. He's going to AFCON anyway. Still need a further depth midfielder.

Doucoure is the number 10, you put him further back and you make the squad weaker by putting him in a position he's not very good at and removing him from a position where he affects games. He shouldn't even be part of the discussion for the midfield 2, he should only be put there in an emergency.

If Onana is sold this window it means we're short on cash and he won't be replaced with a player on par with this abilities.

I think we need to take this report with a grain of salt.
Arsenal need a goalscorer, not more midfielders.
Unless there is silly money involved I would prefer to keep all our players at the club until the summer at least.
We are already light in midfield and if Onana is sold then we probably need to bring in two.
Thelwell did sign Onana and Garner for midfield so he doesn't have a bad record so far.

Arsenal wont be able to spend this January so i wouldnt really worry about that.

They have spent more than almost anyone in terms of net over the last 3 years
Feels like every transfer report is that clubs want Player X but due to FFP need to offload players Y and Z. The problem is everyone has the same problem so there’s no market for those players.

I’ll be surprised if there are many big deals this month, whether Onana or not, as we’re approaching an FFP gridlock. If we do get a big offer though we’d maybe be wise to consider it as the conditions are there for a bit of a market crash over the next few windows.

The ffp has gone in so is no pressure to sell i think, do think as you said will be a price we will let him go for. But we just need to stay strong like other clubs to get the price went want brighton/ southampton ect

The FFP that went in was for last season, but this season seems like the year a lot of teams are having to watch their positions which is why I think the market will be very slow. TBH regarding our position I’ve no idea if we need a sale this season or not.
