Know what you're saying mate but all that was the amount the selling club would let them go for. Swansea knew selling Sigurdsson meant relegation for them - that was what he was worth to them. They were right. He was their most important player by miles. I often joked if we didn't have Sigurdsson's goals/assists and the impact they had on points we'd be in a relegation scrap. Turns out that was right lol

Both City and Everton massively inflated sponsorship via their own businesses, neither have ever been told to stop that.

City are being charged with off book payments and Everton are being charged with not being able to count.

Even with the USM money we were still running far too high on our wages to turnover ratio, we were always heading for trouble at some point due to comical mismanagement over the years.

I dont understand what Newcastle are doing, they have unlimited wealth.

Manchester City are the benchmark, why havent they signed a 500m Naming rights on St James Park? Why havent they found somebody to sponsor the bin in Howes Office?

Because this is exactly why city is now in "trouble" with the PL...inflated commercial deals are looked at now very closely. It has to be a fair deal based on where the club is currently. 500 millions is not a realistic figure.

Swansea - in effect - held us to ransom over Sigurdsson because they were seriously narked that we 'gazumped' them to sign Besic.
