Only way we do real business is through sales first. Wouldn’t mind Godfrey leaving as he may raise some decent money.

In that case, I can see us recalling Holgate. We need to rehabilitate him so as to have a chance of getting rid of his 72k/week wages permanently. Who knows - Dyche might work his magic on him.

Rehabilitation for Holgate..... This might be the funniest thing I've heard on here.

Would like to see us sign from the divisions below with rising stars. Been a best policy for the last few seasons.
Few here that are interesting.

Jobe would come expensive. Think he has what it takes though. Watched a fair bit of Jordan James but not sure he is quick / mobile enough to run a premier league midfield.

Assuming we need to sell to buy selling Godfrey and recalling Holgate for 4th choice CB might be the way to go. Even if that just got us enough for someone like Brownhill and maybe a small loan fee on a winger or whatever it would improve the squad for only a minor downgrade on the bench. Wouldn’t expect much more than small scale tweaking along those lines.

Why do people keep mentioning Brownhill? Hes Burnley's captain and plays every game, he won't be joining Everton in this window.

It's because he has a contract dispute, but yeah he is their captain and he is 27 and in his prime years so he is going to want decent money and probably 3-4 years. I don't really see it as a financially sensible deal for us tbh, we would struggle to make anything back on him.

If no appeal verdict is reached imminently we still need to be alive to the possibility of a switch to a transfer embargo as the appeal panel have all options available.

Even if we can only do a couple of loans, we could box clever by including options or obligations as those can still be taken up under an embargo (Chelsea did this with Kovacic under their embargo).

Need to be particularly attentive to this when it comes to wingers.

And he’s not good enough to play every week, a lot of money for a bench warmer
