Clear, concise communication from Thelwell, in advance.

Compare that to last January from our owner (we’re getting a striker in, then sack the manager), welcome change.

And its not hard is it just to be honest, open and upfront. He's done it in advance of January, we all know where we stand so we get behind the current squad.

It's the single best thing he's come out with since he's been here. He'll be given patience to do his job with updates like that as thats all we want, just a bit of transparency so we know where we are as a club.

Its probably an easier message to deliver when we've been delivering week in week out on the pitch.

Oh yes definitely helps when results aren't too bad so we aren't all clamouring for a signing to desperately help us.

But even so, I think its good for us to know where we stand. Too many years of absolute bull from the usual people at the top about us hoping to bring player a, b or c in only to be let down last minute and just leaves you deflated.

I'm happy to say at least we know what we've got to work with until the end of the season and hopefully the players look around the dressing room and fell they've got enough within the squad to do the business.

So if Spurs were to come in and sign Godfrey would we not sign a replacement then? Also no cover for Gana could get interesting if we get anymore injuries in the next couple of games.

I find it hard to believe we don't have anyone in the age groups who couldn't offer cover and would be as good as Godfrey. Failing that we could loan a squad player from Spurs for the rest of the season as cover
