Was p poor defending, long punt up field yes but he should be aware what's around him absolutely killed us that red card I thought we would of got 3 points comfortably without that red
Worst of it is the repercussions of his poor decision making will extend to at least to the next game with his teammates physically exhausted after being forced to play almost a full game a man down.
The idiot.

Has potential for sure. Made an error that cost us dearly but you know what, I'd rather he get the opportunity to make those mistakes and develop than we hang onto senior players who are clearly not good enough and also make mistakes. When we stay up I think he'll have a big season next season.
Yes but not in this game

Young kid
Just let him go through and if he scores atleast it's 11v11, I could understand if it was the 90th minute the yeah foul him
lol and GOT is full of praise for letting him run through on goal unchallenged and un pressurised - showing the wisdom and foresight.
Once he was caught out by the bounce - which was unusual - he was on a hiding to nothing.

He wouldn't be praised for a mistake - that's for sure - but he compounded his original mistake by adding a bigger one on top. If we are to have any chance of staying up, we cannot make crass blunders like this. Got to keep 11 on the pitch. Non-negotiable.

But as I said yesterday, it's the experienced players who have us in this mire, not this kid. He needs to be protected and looked after after yesterday's ordeal. And, frankly, all three goals in his absence were poor defensive blunders by players either not closing down or switching off their markers. This kid has a lot to learn, but he does not deserve scapegoating when far more experienced and far better paid individuals have been leaving us down big time all season.

No blame here for the kid.
Tough call to put him into this kind of battle. But what choice did Lampard have?
I actually hope he gets a loan move next year. Send him to Derby and let him get into scraps every week. I can't imagine it would be in his best interest to stick around whilst there are wholesale changes, a out to happen. Go away and fight week in and week out.
Well, actually saying that, we might get relegated and he can scrap away in the championship.

Looked at the goal - could Pickford had come out for that ball, giving Braithwaite a shout, it's mine ? The distance did not look that great, other top keepers seem to get to those long balls ?

Or did I get the wrong impression he had no chance to get out there?

Just a thought, right or wrong?

I don’t think Pickford should’ve come out for that mate. Too high bouncing a ball, too far out. We’d have crucified him if he did that and it didn’t work out

Can’t take a red there. Even if BrentFord score there we are still in good shape 11v11. And who’s to say he definitely would have scored?

I don't know why he moved left behind him toney? Just tripped and with inertia Branthwaith was always going to make contact even though it was minimal. Very naive on his part. I always see branthwaith touted as promising on here but he always seems to have an error in him. Whether that can be coached away is the question

I'd rather not have my keeper out in those areas. It was probably 25 yards on the angle and we had defenders there. When it's outside the box, you generally want defenders to deal with it.

Gutted for him. We looked set for a win before his error. I was calling for him to play earlier in the season, but he came in and messed up at a crucial stage. If we stay up, I’d still be hoping to give him a run. All of our defenders have made stupid mistakes which have cost us this season. And on the case of Mina, is made of glass! Those giving Branthwaite abuse now should have a think about it, others are far more to blame than this kid. He has more potential than our other defenders imo, he needs backing, not crucifying.

To be honest mate lampard should have gone with another formation using JJK instead. At least iwobi could have covered from the midfield and maybe have snuffed out Erickson a bit more.

That atmosphere was the best I've heard for a long time and putting a kid in there with that amount of sheer aggregation was always going to be a factor
