To be honest mate lampard should have gone with another formation using JJK instead. At least iwobi could have covered from the midfield and maybe have snuffed out Erickson a bit more.

That atmosphere was the best I've heard for a long time and putting a kid in there with that amount of sheer aggregation was always going to be a factor
He was having a good game till that sending off - in experienced, yes - as the Brentford striker knew what he was after .....
Usually when someone gets sent off a manager makes a change - i thought frank was slow in doing that TBH, but it's a hard task to stop a team for 70 minutes with only ten men ..... we did well to get back in front of them at half time TBH ....

How did he have a good game up until then like? The sending off was the first thing he had to do and he mucked it up.

Absolutely brutal error, I understand hes young, but that will go down as one of the worst mistakes of the season and almost unforgivable. Team is in a relegation fight, needs to just win this game and your dominating early, looking likely to go 2 or 3 up and you do that. The first mistake is a young players mistake, to allow that position to even happen. But the red card mistake on top of that is the one thats almost unforgiveable for what it does to his team and teammates out of pure mindlessness.

If the team stays up despite that, its likely a brutal lesson he takes to heart and has to sort out for the next year. If he team goes down, it may haunt his entire career and he may never mentally get past it.

70 minutes and your looking at a miracle to get all 3 points. Could we have done something different that's all. It was two pronged error 1. Defending too high, I also think Holgate was too high as well. 2. Committing the foul. 2. Comes down maturity 1. Someone needs to have word with them. Palace will do the same thing trouble is branthwaite won't get another chance.. tis what it is. Hindsight mate a wonderful thing..

Michael Keen will be back on Thursday ...hopefully, - last hope

Pretty sure when he made his debut off the bench he gave away a free kick outside the box and then lost his man for the header. The header then went in the back of the net. This isn’t his first mistake but that’s to be expected from him given his age and inexperience. Just happened at the worst possible time.

Assume it was nerves and desperation not to concede - but conceding a goal would have been far preferable !

Poor decision.

To be fair, he didn't exactly hack the bloke down, or rugby tackle him. It was an effort to challenge that turned into a slight tangle, and the Brentford player chucked himself on the floor. A significant error, yes. Important, yes, but not a gross blunder like people are saying.

The main point here is he’s young and will learn from it. Even if he lets Toney in and he scores, we’re better off at 1-1 with 11 players than up 1-0 and down to 10 with 70 minutes still on the clock... That’s situational awareness and he knows that now. It seems a costly one now, but fingers crossed it doesn’t matter in the long run. This guy still has a bright future, and no it will not ruin him just as the missed penalty for England didn’t ruin Saka.
