The Dutch league is a farmer one these days.

Lets not do what we always do with our yoof and heap too much hype/expectation on the boy.

I remember when Holgate was being raved about after his very good loan spell at WBA and look at the bozo in the big league.

Don't think there's ever been a chance of Mina being renewed, think Dyche's preference for Keane and the performances of Branthwaite make the permanent signing of Coady less and less likely too- the fee is still very low and tempting but the wages add up. Can see our CBs next season being Tarkowski, Keane and Branthwaite, with Godfrey and Holgate as versatile backup options and Welch getting a loan.
That's exactly my thinking, Mina and Coady will not be renewed/signed, and there will be room for Branthwaite, who may even see a fair number of games. Godfrey is a decent back up in various positions across the back line, due in part to his pace. Holgate I could see being moved along if an opportunity presents, but unlikely much interest so will probably stay.

Holgate lost his way...remembered the couple of games just before and after ancelotti signed...he was amazing, so much so that he was linked to city for big money. Not sure what happened to him really.

Fact is if a player is shining in the Dutch league and has the physical attributes premier league sides show interest.
He wasn’t far off the first team last season, next season he will be older, with a season of top tier football and champions league exp.

Holgate has never been amazing, he's the same player now as he was then. Average players can have a good run of form where they look better than average, but eventually they will regress to the mean, it's that simple I think. One of the reasons Holgate has always struggled to properly establish himself is that he has no real standout attributes - he's not tall, or strong, or particularly quick. If he had any of those attributes then he could probably get away with the fact that he's not great positionally or very good at decision making, but he can't. Branthwaite does have standout physical attributes, which will hopefully make it easier for him to make his mark.

Xavi Simons
Edson Alvarez
Mo Kudus
Kokcu
Ibrahim Sangare

Would each improve our midfield options....Johan Bakayoku would be a welcome addition to right wing also.

Some top top talent in Holland.

There will be room for him and I definitely don't want him sold.
Could see Holgate getting sold as well myself regardless if Braithwaite come back or not and somebody new coming in maybe?
Gibson is supposed to be doing well on loan as well, so we are not badly stocked in that department.
Honestly think Braithwaite could have the makings of a really good player, tall fast good on the ball, he has all the tools, now we have Tarks we have the ideal man to guide him along.

Keane is currently better
He is, you’re right, particularly for the type of defending that Dyche requires from centre backs - the one thing Branthwaite has that Keane and Tarkowski don’t have is pace, he’s very quick. Branthwaite has a high ceiling though, lots of potential.

Pace isn’t as important in a Dyche back 4 as they don’t leave much space in behind but it still nice to have one centre back in the pair who is rapid.

The season we wish he serves in the championship might be closer to hand than we initially thought. Can't afford Coady, Mina's a dud, take your pick of who'll buy Keane, Holgate or Godfrey.
