tbh we do kinda need to make a statement to the rest of the league that we won't be bullied into selling our star players for less than what they are worth due our financial issues

these vultures trying to pick off our best players for cheap prices

65m is probably all-cash, up front. It wouldn't shock me if we unload him for a lower nominal price that way. Not paying loan sharks interest is worth more to us than add-ons. Not paying add-ons is worth more to a buying club than their own interest charges.
