2023/24 Jarrad Branthwaite

I've been under the assumption that we'd sell Branthwaite this summer the whole time.

If we are going to sell him in the next 12 months, now is probably the time to do it. Nobody knows how the next 12 months would play out - he could get injured, he could hit bad form, etc etc

We absolutely shouldn't be selling him in the "PSR window" after the season finishes (if we need a sale for PSR) because that's the one where clubs know you need to sell and they have your kecks down

I'm ok with it as long as we get the figure we want and we make smart recruitment decisions with the proceeds - there are a number of areas we need to strengthen and if selling Branthwaite allows us to do that (and crucially we don't do an Everton and waste the cash) then it's part of life and we move on with things.

This squad needs improving and to improve it we need to spend money and to stay compliant after spending money we need to sell people.

…..we need to survive this coming season. PSR changes, BMD and new ownership should be in place this time next season. I think Ndiaye makes us stronger from an attacking perspective, Godfrey leaving leaves us weaker defensively.

I’d feel we’ll be ok with what we have but if Branthwaite leaves it could be a real struggle. Selling Onana will have less impact, just hope we’re avoiding points deduction. Get through it and things will hopefully be brighter in 12 months.

Problem is he has a 20% sell on clause so we're down cash if he goes.

Wolves apparently charged a premium for that Kilman boy due to him having a sell on clause.

If EFC want value for money, he shouldn't go for a penny less than £85-90m.

If we get 70m plus I can live with it even if it does weaken us if we recruit wisely we can strengthen different areas, If we don't get our valuation then it will sting more because his value is only going one way. I would preferably like to keep him one more season and sell the likes of Onana and others this summer, but everyone has a price.

Yes it would weaken us defensively and that was our strength last season. Taking a gamble on someone like O'brien coming in and performing to a high level. So for us to sell our hand needs to be forced I was more worried we would get low balled pre the PSR deadline now its 70m plus or he stays.

If they wanted a defender for 45m they should have bought Max Kilman. I think we're better off keeping him for another season if possible (prob need to sell Onana). There is a risk that he'll get injured of course, but think his value is only going to increase

….i’ve had a little bet on him staying, it’s bookies money anyway after cashing in my Euro squad bet for 3 x profit.

United also linked with Guehi this morning after he rejected a new deal at Palace.

He clearly wants to leave, so I want him gone.

The sooner the manc rats pay what he’s worth the better.
I think he will go if a deal is agreed if not he's not the kind of lad to put in a request he even signed a new contract last year I think he's a level headed lad who knows he's heading to the top regardless

Kilman - that was unbelievable fee for dross.
I don't think it's that mad. 40 mil for an establishment premier league center back just coming into his prime. Maidenhead get 10m due to a sell on (which is absolutely fantastic for them). Without the sell on he'd have probably gone for 30m.....What's unbelievable are the offers man united are making for a player that is going to be top level.
