Saw him with his band Lifetime at St Georges Hall in 1971 (I think) Didn't really appreciate what they were doing musically, but was blown away by his mastery of his drumkit. Made me move on from a "rock/pop/" mode, to discover different musical "genres"
Superb..ta for reminding me...looks for "Emergency"

(frustrated drummer me.. :))

Impossible I know, but would like to see your 6 Jazz immortals. I have gone for these.

Duke Ellington.
Thelonious Monk.
Modern Jazz Quartet (John Lewis)
John Coltrane.
Charlie Parker.
Miles Davis.

Even As I write this, I could comfortably add another 25 artists.

Great shout, not mentioned as much as he should be.

I have a few Jazz mags that might help you out mate ;)
lolNice - only ever went to one Jazz club in my life - love guitars etc, but sorry walked out - My head after a bit as my head was done in, no tunes just jamming etc - yet respect the fact most of the great rock musicians evolved from Jazz ......

That bass solo is stunning, verging on Funk x
Yeah, thought I was pushing the line on Jazz but he played with (and composed for) Miles Davis, so that's my out. I had the pleasure of seeing him live and it was spectacular. It was the gig that converted my missus.

Glad you liked it!
