At times I'd like to see this

(CM)Gomes
(CM) Delph

Allow Gomes and Delph to go box to box with Gbamin sitting as the quarterback pinging balls to the full backs/wingers. Give Gomes more chance to push on. Obviously Sig starts at ten currently, but it is now an option.

If Gomes can actually get back to creating something for his teammates like at Valencia, that's fine. If we are going to do that, though, I'd want someone more progressive with the ball. Just sell Schneiderlin and get Sangare in the door. Problem solved.

I think Gomes could do it, if he pushes further forward and doesn't feel he needs to track back so much, he can create more, has a strike on him too. Delph has decent passing.Gbamin can also surge at times. You could even put Morgan where he is(if he stays) and put Gbamin at box to box. I would suggest this for certain away games especially.

I honestly think Gomes has a better chance of improving on his lack of creativity from last year than his defending. Think he's got shots and passes in his bag. Just don't think he will ever be positionally astute enough in midfield to be good. Puts so much pressure on Gbamin and the back line.

I can understand why you'd think that based on some of the reporting and stats like his dribbling. I don't think we'll see him surge forward thst same way. But the way Dembele would just knock people off the ball, just overpower them, similar IMO. Think Gbamin is more likely to fire off a 40 meter pass to a wing back than carry it through midfield, though.

DM -- Gbamin / Sangare
CM -- Gomes / Delph
AM -- Sigurdsson / Davies

Thats how i would hope we end up but it doesnt look like were after another midfielder.

I'm hoping so. Give a new dimension to this team and gets us further up the pitch.
