It seems significant that the club chose to highlight his return to training. A positive sign.

I guess we'll have to see if the injuries have had any long term effect on his fitness. It would be nice if his issues were over for good and he becomes a revelation. Because it's nice to think positively. lol

I do wish him the best and good times ahead for him at our club.

How do we know it’s not a deep fake?

seriously though, I hope Carlo can give him some minutes with the remaining games left. Doesn’t have to start but would get him confidence.

Quite frankly all I hope for the lad is he’s able continue what was a promising career. Whether or not it’s with us I don’t even care but no one should have their career ended or permanently degraded at such a young age.

Let’s see what he’s like with a pre season behind him next year hoping we can avoid any further setbacks or anything like that. Look as others have said we’d have been covered by insurance with all this and Allan and Doucoure have been brought in so he’s nothing but a bonus to our squad if he can come back for us.

As harsh as it sounds there’s no point speculating on what he’s going to be like or what he was like before because it’s irrelevant now as he’ll surely come back a different player for better or worse and there’s really nothing we can look at until he’s back on the pitch and as I say pre-season will be big for the lad. Hope he can recover physically and especially mentality more than anything though, if he can help Everton then that’s fantastic, if not I still wish him nothing but the absolute best of health and happiness going forward.

I'm hoping he gets a little bit of time this season to see what this league is about otherwise next season he will be effectively like a new signing apart from being 2 years older.

He would be like that whether he plays this season or next? Personally rather park him, give him some pre-season games then slowly introduce him to league minutes next season. He’s only just hit grass work so he’s still way off and season is almost over.

Agree
I hope we have a chance to show him support - social media helps of course - but on the pitch it will be amazing.
We can make a good guess he must be mentally tough to have even got to this point, but it must have been dark and difficult especially when things were going well and badly with Everton, and with the pandemic.

Wouldn't get him on straight away but would be nice to see him get some game time off the bench, especially if we're 3-0 up with 20 to go

If the last couple of games are meaningless or comfortable I hope he gets some minutes. The 3/9 subs rule means we can have him on the bench and it won't really be limiting options. He cab take the 2nd goalkeeper place. I don't think he'll be ready to start for first team this season but he might get an hour or so in a couple of u23s games.

Really pleased for the lad but would be surprised to see anything this season. He’s been out for a long time.
