A 20 minute cameo chasing Phil Foden around on the final day will be a good fitness drill for the lad.
Telling you, he plays before the season is out - be it a start or as a sub
Yip...
Comes on for the last 20 minutes against Man City on the final day of the season;
The first 5-10 minutes he jogs and sprints around while he tidily and neatly passes the ball;
Losses position to Foden on the half-way line, then goes in for a hard tackle to try and reclaim the ball, lands awkwardly and stuffs his leg up again...
And is then sidelined for the unforeseeable future once more.

*Taps nose... What odds do you think I can get on that scenario happening? lol

....I wouldn’t want to tempt fate even talking about him having another setback. Here’s hoping for his sake and ours, he’s fit and well to make a telling contribution.

Won't matter as we will be 3-0 up

From both of your lips to Gods ears... lol

He won't make much of an impact this season, but I'm hoping that all this time spent with injury setbacks and being unable to do what he loves doing best, which is playing footie has adequetly pissed him off enough to make him decide that he's going full balls to the wall next season.

Yeh but there's a different risk in U23 games till pre-season than U23/first team games till pre-season.
He could still get crocked in an under 23 game. And did Gomes or Allan play an under 23 game or Digne. This is not the 80’s when players would play a few reserve games first.

Never seems to happen now. I can’t remember Coleman playing one after he was out year

I find it weird that people are saying "let the lad run around for 90minutes with the U23s" but then shooting down any chance of him coming off the bench for the main team. I get it's a different intensity but the issue is literally the running, no?

You're more likely, in my mind, to pull something in a game of higher intensity with something on the line than basically the slow glorified friendlies that are academy games.

Were Gomes and Allan out for nearly 2 years?

Coleman also came back after a year out and got injured again.

Im sure qualified fitness coaches at a premier league football team will be able to assess the best route back to fitness for Gbamin rather than the combined expertise of GOT.
