Comes on for the last 20 minutes against Man City on the final day of the season;
The first 5-10 minutes he jogs and sprints around while he tidily and neatly passes the ball;
Losses position to Foden on the half-way line, then goes in for a hard tackle to try and reclaim the ball, lands awkwardly and stuffs his leg up again...
And is then sidelined for the unforeseeable future once more.

*Taps nose... What odds do you think I can get on that scenario happening? lol

....I think the main issue was the club doctor examined the wrong leg on the pitch. Regardless, I think there’s a new regime in at that level.

Personally, I wouldn't rush Gbamin back. For the remainder of games left I would slowly ease him back into the squad. I doubt he'd make that much of an impact this late into the season anyway.

Then some rest and a couple of pre-season friendlies, and he'll be good to go next season.

I know you were just joking,it jogged my memory about Jags. Think we were losing by a couple and god knows why,but Moyse brought him on, but that was it for nearly a year.

....the Jagielka injury could’ve happened at any time. Not sure if you’ve been on surfaces at Goodison & USM FF but they are extremely firm, regardless of the weather conditions. There’s very little give & I’m sure it’s why so many knee ligament injuries occur these days.

If Doucoure gets back for last 2 games and he can do 80 minutes we can maybe bring Gbamin on for the last 10. A tastier for what could happen next season. There is a lot of ifs and buts in there but it would be good to get them both a little bit of game time before the season ends. Particularly if we can still achieve Europa or maybe even Champions League.

....worth a reminder of why he was brought in & it was lots to do with much needed running power in CM. Doucoure also provides this, but it will be a huge bonus if Gbamin can get back to full fitness. A huge addition, Ancelotti will be very keen to have him available.

There won’t be defence splitting passes, but he can go with runners, has powers of recovery when the opposition are beyond him & he can get us up the pitch with his transition from defence to attack.

Looks like he would have been useful these past 2 seasons and would have provided something our midfield has lacked.

Whilst I think he is unlikely to impact this season materially, I think Carlo and Brands will want to give him some minutes and get an idea whether he will be useful next season or not. How has he recovered from his injury, does he breakdown etc etc. This will indicate who they need to buy for midfield.
