Really feel for the guy but anyone pinning any sort of hope on this fella is delusional. This was a huge step up for him regardless from Mainz. Now he’s expected to do it after two serious injuries and almost two seasons out?
Would anyone be excited if we signed a DM from Mainz who hasn’t played in 16 months after two serious injuries????
That’s what we’re getting

So, apparently, even Carlo doesn't know what is going on with him. When asked Carlo answers "I am waiting too, honestly".

We have the worst physios in the world ffs. Is he not even with the club still? Why is he still doing individual training instead of back?

We dont though.

Every fanbase says this about their own club when they suffer injuries.

As if the physio can stop a guy from ripping up his quad taking a shot in training or prevent him from blowing his achilles up playing a game of keep ups.

He's a little over 6 months removed from an injury that typically requires a minimum of 6 months to recover from. He is going to have to build fitness once he is back. There is nothing abnormal here.

This doesn’t bode well for how he will cope in a game situation. I’m worried about spontaneous combustion

He’s going to get hurt the minute he starts training again. Until he steps foot on the pitch in an actual match, he just doesn’t exist anymore and shouldn’t be expected to contribute.

If we get 10 games out of him this year and he looks just decent then that’s a great result for us and him. We are light in the position he plays so anything is a bonus really.

And this is somewhere where the club is rubbish. You have made this point about the standard recovery time from his injury before, and you're right. To me, it was obvious that he wasn't going to be anywhere near ready to play any time soon, and i've said as much in here more than once. And yet I don't blame people for being surprised/annoyed, because the club has definitely made it sound like he'd be back by now. They have a habit of doing this, and it breeds distrust among fans and fuels conspiracy theories. I don't know why they insist on doing it but they do.
