You're kidding aren't you?

He's had keyhole surgery at most and had to hit the rehab room.

In that period he's pocketed circa £6M.
Dave, I kind of remember photos going around of a nasty looking scar on the lads' thigh following two bouts of surgery to correct a recurring problem, it didn't look 'keyhole' to be honest.

Personally, I don't consider the fact that he's pocketed £6m whilst being operated on, spent time in and out of physio/rehab, and not knowing if he's going to have a career in football at the end of it all, as being 'lucky'. I guess we both have different values. That's not a dig at you by the way Dave, I just understand that people view situations very differently at times.

The lad gets a free pass from me this season. If he can make a combined 25ish appearances be they start or off the bench then that's a good platform for him to either finally start his everton career or get himself a move elsewhere.

I think he may get a loan mo e to get regular football.
He needs to play regularly and that is unlikely to happen at Everton.
I think he may get a loan abroad to see if he can get back to where he was before his injury.

I think you'll find @davek was right, it was just keyhole surgery. In fact, Ive found a picture of the actual key

That's part and parcel of being a playerr. What pro doesn't get surgery in their career? 99.9% will have done. But at least some of them get paid and hand some value in return.

I'm always amazed at the slack cut to people who live a lavish lifestyle and coin in bewidering amounts of money - usually from people who'll struggle for their whole lives.

The injuries look that way. Achilles, hamstring and medial ligament. They'd go for minimum invasive surgery I'd guess.
Dave, modern surgery techniques have advanced loads from when a cruciate ligament snap was a career ender, them and achilles are both repaired by keyhole techniques now and no one (sensible) will argue that they aren't serious injuries. If he has a big zip on his thigh in this day and age, it is a big injury.

He may have had keyhole for the initial injury but I’m pretty sure they went more evasive for the second surgery when they found dead scar tissue that was hampering his recovery, had it been detected and done at the time of the first, he’d have been back quicker and probably wouldn’t have got the Achilles one

….very encouraged by that little cameo, he looked like Fellaini at one point. Perhaps there is a player there that we can utilise.
That's a good point . Felliani was more like Carlton Palmer when he first joined . Took him a while to catch up and he wasn't injured for 2 years .
Give him some cameos from the bench and start him during the F.A cup just to see if there is something there.
