That's part and parcel of being a playerr. What pro doesn't get surgery in their career? 99.9% will have done. But at least some of them get paid and hand some value in return.

I'm always amazed at the slack cut to people who live a lavish lifestyle and coin in bewidering amounts of money - usually from people who'll struggle for their whole lives.
I’ll be intrigued to see your take if Benitez ever has to miss time due to an operation

My take onBenitez has always been the same: I support him because he's been appointed the Everton manager. He's no hero of mine. I just back a new manager until they prove themselves incapable after time and resources have been spent.

Try it.
What's your reason for continuously and passionately defending the rein of Roberto Martinez then?

RM never got the resources the planks who followed him got; and he got us to 5th with a club record season for wins and points in the PL; and he got us to 2 cup SFs....that is like a golden age for us right now. We'd accept that in the next 3 years in a heartbeat...even the last 2 season's worth of midtable finishes.

Nice try Dave :D

Had Jean-Philippe Gbamin needed that surgery over the course of a long career then I'm with you. But his problems have all occurred and been packed into a period of a short few years, and have mainly been the fault of how the player and his health etc. have been mismanaged.

Oh, and I have no problem cutting someone slack when they are unable to work due to illness or injury, the lavish lifestyle that they lead and the amount of money they have mean nothing to me, to be honest. The only issue I did have with the player was the drunk drive offence he committed.

A young man fit as a butchers dog getting minor surgery every now and then who'll get paid in the course of his career about £20M.

Cry me a river. I'll save my tears for people who really deserve it.

He's just a diabolically poor player who Brands got mugged on.

But you usually talk like you are impressed by him, taking his side over other Everton employees instantly, such as Digne. It seems you are happy with him more than just 'because he's been appointed the Everton manager', is that not the case?

No, that just seems to be the case to someone frothing at the mouth screaming blue murder at an ex-Liverpool manager being in our dugout.

I have never had a problem with him being ex Liverpool...Think you are mixing me up with someone else...I have issue with his tactics, but am happy to be proven wrong if it happens. I'd admit it then too. Would you?

Dave would probably be happy to see us relegated if it meant they didn’t win the league
which ever team benefits from us taking points off one of the sly 6 and then goes on to win the league, Over the course of the season they are the best team! Redshite or not, after 50 years of supporting the blues I have never wanted them to lose a game, never!! ps; I cannot make myself watch any Benitez press conference or interview since his appointment….. [Poor language removed] supporter me!
