They're not really bizarre comments though are they? Let's be honest, if we signed a player who'd only started 2 league games in the last 3 years we'd be pretty annoyed about it, so I'm not surprised there's some skepticism from their end.

The guy has played over 200 top flight games and grew up coming through the ranks of the French youth national teams

He clearly has some quality and bad luck with injuries at Everton

As is the nature of some fans on here, it’s to be expected that they’ll view him in a massively glass half empty fashion

The guy criticising him hadn’t played much more than 150 games in his whole career so it seemed a bit rich coming from him

The Russian league is obviously nowhere near as strong as the prem - so if he can avoid injury he could do a decent job there - so of course wish him all the best

Notwithstanding it being an odd choice to go to Russia at this time

What other league's are still open for transfers?

If gives Gbamin the chance to play regular competitive football albeit at a lower level.
A chance for him to rebuild a career that has crumbled because of injury.

True to an extent but the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been on the cards for a while. Weird move for him.

The aim was get him playing to show at least *some* potential value to us in terms of a summer transfer away.
