That 97/98 season was proper bleak. Other luminaries included Mitch Ward, Carl Tiler and Tony Thomas

Seems a strange move to go to Russia at this point in time

He has to obviously had bad luck with injuries at EFC having played decent numbers of games at his past clubs

There were some bizarre comments from a former Moscow player questioning Gbamin’s quality because of his injury record but the guy saying this had not played much more than 100 games in something like 7 years for Moscow himself

I do feel sorry for the lad. Injuries have absolutely ruined his career here, hes just been really really unlucky which happens in football. Coming back into the side against wolves he was absolutely horrendous, he was no where to be seen on the pitch, and shy’d away from the ball, I did actually feel sorry for him. Hopefully he can kick start his career over there and they like what they see and hopefully we can recoup a little bit of money for him. I think Franks seen enough to suggest he won’t get a look in over younger players and current midfield we have atm. I hope he does well over there and gets a move for all involved.

Best thing is he'll go on loan and still has two full years left on his contract with us. He'll not leave us permanently until his contract end in 2024, just like the rest of the leeches from previous years. Spent about 250m on duds and literally recouped 2m through the sale of Schneiderlin. lol

They're not really bizarre comments though are they? Let's be honest, if we signed a player who'd only started 2 league games in the last 3 years we'd be pretty annoyed about it, so I'm not surprised there's some skepticism from their end.

Fingers crossed getting some game time is a prelude to a sale in the summer. No room for sentiment, he goes this summer permanently along with many others who haven’t contributed and don’t look like they will.
