By virtue of 'don't change a winning team', he might still play the 1st half next week no?
Yeah but if it means Harrison has a full tank to burn coming on in the 2nd half that might workI don't think the first half team was a winning one.
I thought being 'PL ready' wasn't a thing, also.Quite hilarious in this thread hearing someone say Lindstrom needs ‘conditioning’. I mean what do you think professional footballers do at Eintracht Frankfurt or Napoli? Same as in England or Spain. Give him a chance hes in a new country, has quality…
I wouldn't say it's that silly from a fans perspective but from a clubs perspective. You can't write the lad off just yet.
He clearly needs time to adapt. To me, it's clear he's yards off the pace. He probably needs some time to build confidence, too. He barely got a kick last season, with just a handful of minutes on the pitch. Before that, he was playing at Brøndby and Eintracht Frankfurt – both miles away from the intensity and pace of the Premier League, in a struggling side.
People were acting as though he was the next Kanchelskis before we'd seen him kick a ball. The clamour for him to start this season, and the fume towards Dyche for not starting him from the off, looks even more silly now.
I think this is close to the truth.I think the lads confidence levels are at rock bottom after the season he has just had in Italy. He needs a run of games where he comes off the bench for the last half hour, this is a period of the game when the bit of pace and decent first touch he has could be very useful. He shows some good ability, but, his mentality seems to be very fragile at the moment, one mistake and his head drops.
Exactly this.I wouldn't say it's that silly from a fans perspective but from a clubs perspective.
If he's been brought in, it should be to help the team immediately.
If he's not ready to help and is one for the future, I'd say we should've picked a better target.
Nothing wrong with the fans expecting a new signing to be capable of starting games.
Exactly. You can see how Glasner set Palace up in that 3-4-3, Eze and the other lad playing almost like 2 number 10s and that’s where Jesper would have been played at Frankfurt… to his strengths - dropping into space between the lines or running beyond the striker, not trying to beat a man and leg it down the wing.
Playing him wide right reminds me of when we used to try and play Bily wide left… it’s not going to be playing to his strengths… he’s more a 10. Ironically I think Eze works better as a wide player than in role/pos Glasner puts him in.
