2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

He shouldn't start the next game, its that simple, if you down tools on the team, are you more or less likely to learn and do it again if there are no consequences.

He goes back to the end of the que, because he doesn't deserve a shirt after yesterday.

Competing for his place again and earning an opportunity wont do him any harm, if hes as talented as some suggest (and i have my doubts) it wont be an issue for him to earn back his place.

Why should Illy bust a gut when his counterpart on the right, pulls up, gives up and waives his arms in the air - then next week just walks back into the team - no!

Its that simple really.
‘He doesnt deserve a shirt..’ If you applied that argument wed have about 2 players left with shirts after our start to the season… 😁

Strange mentality given he had won that starting spot and was popping up in good areas. He visibly deflated last week when he duffed his free kick into the wall. Looked crestfallen, but luckily made the run that created space for the goal.

Conundrum now is does he have super weak confidence because of his tough year, or did he have a tough year last year because he’s weak willed with the wrong mentality built in.

Given he's only on about 30 grand a weak I'm sure that we'll be fighting teams off who are after him then.

Remove his set pieces as he pretty much takes every one for us , how many chances does he create from open play mate?

He also messes up badly at times, he's as slow a player as I've ever seen in this league, and he's so I e footed it's painful to watch at times

I did love his fifty yard dribble the other week though were he best 4 men, shame it was from the edge of their box to the edge of our own mind, maybe he got confused which way we were playing....

He played for a good awful Burnley side and is now playing for a pretty dure Everton side, that's the lads level, it's why he's never even had a sniff if interest from any decent dude or got near an international call up.

Honestly find your stance on him bizarre. If you think he’s crap, what do you think of the rest of the lads? Presumably there’s no one except possibly Pickford or Branthwaite who you do believe to be a decent footballer.

Why would you remove set pieces from his stats? It’s hardly a cheat code when every other team in the league has someone taking theirs too, and he’s still ahead of them all.

There’s a proper weird trend among blues of hating on our creative players, whilst the workhorse jobbers largely tend to get a pass because they run round a bit. Not for me. Big fan of Dwight.

Spurs fourth Vs us.

McNeil gives the ball away to the CB, does a bunny hop throws his arms up, few seconds later sprints then breaks into a jog and gives up trying to get back.

Where's the difference mate, I'm being serious btw, watch it back.

CB runs basically to our box McNeil isn't within thirty yards of a player he was ahead of when he gave it away and let him go right past him due to him 'giving up in frustration '

Because I've watched him a good few seasons mate. The lad can't run, he can't use his other foot, given the leagues recruitment is huge on stats zero other teams ever showed any interest in the lad. Why?

Give his huge creativity why exactly has no other club shown any interest in trying to buy him, given we literally will sell anyone given an ok offer?

Genuine question mate as you seem to rate him highly - not sure if you did before yesterday ofc.

Don’t understand this “doesn’t use his other foot” crack. Loads of lefties don’t use their right. People like Robben and Downing has stellar careers never using it.

How much did we pay for him when we had no money?
Who scouted him?
How many other players were available?
But are we playing him in his wrong position as we do with most players?

88 games 14 goals.

Given he plays every minute of every game about 6 a season.

Then factor in the negatives, sorry mate but if Dwight is your idea of the type of player we should aspire too then we settle for mediocrity, because the lad is the very definition of it.

P S. Harrison is a worse btw, Dwight at least scores - Harrison runs around a bit looking interested but doing nowt.

Robben in the same sentence as McNeil.

Why not quote sheedy mate also, equally laughable to compare them.

Downing was garbage btw

Nah mate the narrative now is he's a natural number ten.

Only took Dyche around 200 games managing the lad to realise it ofc.

Ever seen sheedy constantly go backwards and kill attacks , ever see robben do a 40 yard backwards dribble to avoid using his right, ever see downing do any of that either.

Awaiting the answer mate

I’m actually on record saying I’d would have dropped McNeill after the first couple mate and he’s a player I’d look to move on from eventually - im actually not his biggest fan - of late he’s proving me wrong at the moment and I’m open minded on that. I didn’t notice that Vs Spurs, but I wouldn’t have a different reaction to it then to Linstrom yesterday, I’m happy to take it on good faith that it’s true.

Being frankly honest, if McNeill did it in his first PL start at Goodison two years ago, I don’t think the reaction would be different. I suppose the difference is - he’s got those two years of contribution in the bank to know that, that’s an anomaly as opposed to the norm. Jesper doesn’t and has a point to prove here - he did himself no favours on that score. It’s nothing anyone saying on here that’s going to get him dropped next week - it’s his own performence and attitude and how that undermined the team, he was also was at fault for the goal yesterday in my opinion. If he’s out of 5e team next week, it’s down to his performence allowing another player to impact and take his shirt, it’s that simple.

We all want to succeed, I don’t see it in him - but I’m open minded. If he is to succeed, he needs to learn, if he’s picked next week he learns nothing and it sends out the wrong message to the team - 100%.[/QUOTE]

Partly at fault for the goal as he gave the ball away, the person truly at fault mate was Doucoure who got out jumped (or rather her didn't bother jumping) by the palace midget CB.
