Transfer Rumour Jesse Lingard

Surprised I'm seeing a decent number of positive posts on Lingard. To me he'd be symbolic of everything wrong with our club over the last several years. And I say that with very little hyperbole. The only thing that would make it worse is if we paid a transfer fee. Otherwise it's honestly a sick joke. I understand he scored a few goals for West Ham on loan, but look at the body of evidence and the characteristics of the player and person.

And with the rumor coming the day we've sold off our best player, it's just about too much for me. We haven't signed him yet, at least.

I think it depends on how we intend to play..

On the face of it I think its a no brainer adding an England international into the squad.

Next season i can see Dele doing well for Lampard and I think Lingard would want to prove United wrong and get back in the England squad.

I'd certainly prefer him to anyone else weve been linked with up top aside from KLP.

Lingard and Dele while both having 'baggage' are very talented footballers.

Obviously weve only seen flashes from Dele but I expect both he and Lingard to be firing this season to get back into the England setup.

Michael Keane is an England International, thank God we gave him a new contract.

I’m pro Lingard but please stop with the World Cup being a reason to get him in - he’s not playing ahead of Foden or Mount or many others who would keep him off the bench whether he has a good three months or not!
 
I remember him making his big England comeback in a qualifier against San Marino about a year ago and he was the worst player on the pitch.
 

Just to echo most of the others, what an Everton signing. Everything wrong with the club. Least him and Dele will boost our insta footprint…
 
Apart from his stint at west ham the guys did absolutely nothing so I fully expect everton to be signing him.
