Lingard and Dele while both having 'baggage' are very talented footballers.

Obviously weve only seen flashes from Dele but I expect both he and Lingard to be firing this season to get back into the England setup.

….i think Lingard is talented but he’s a risk and could well be another expensive millstone around the club.

He’s 30 later this year. He’s at a stage of his career where I’d challenge whether the game matters to him. Man Utd are very average & he struggles for game time. He was terrific for West Ham, but I’m wary of players who show improved form when they seek a new contract.

There’s enough doubt for us to stay clear. Ali is a decent age & I hope he feels he still has something to prove but he hasn’t had the impact I hoped for & I doubt he’s had the impact Lampard hoped for. Fingers crossed for him.

I think it depends on how we intend to play..

On the face of it I think its a no brainer adding an England international into the squad.

Next season i can see Dele doing well for Lampard and I think Lingard would want to prove United wrong and get back in the England squad.

I'd certainly prefer him to anyone else weve been linked with up top aside from KLP.

He would've left United years ago to price them wrong.

It's been one of those interesting ones where every outlet, including even the BBC have gone with the exact same story, so obviously either his side or ours have circulated the story to journalists. The question is which and why? Lingard's side to try to drum up other interest? Us to put pressure on other targets?

They are quoting West Ham as wanting him if he'll drop his wage demands,who knows?

Lingard makes a lot of sense for us especially on a free, he was great for West Ham and if we get that form then it will be a great signing. Adds goals and some creativity. Him and Dele could be really good for us next season. Both very talented footballers.
