Part of the fabric of Everton and seems a really sound, luvly fella to boot.

I’d sooner have a statue or a stand named after Jimmy than anything to do with Chairman Bill.

I believe he did, and was given his chance by Howard Kendall... I could be wrong, mind.

Edit: It would seem he drove the team back from Norwich after we won the title there. So yes

Only met him once. Lovely fella. Away to Arsenal in either 88 or 89. Myself and my mate were still around the ground about an hour after the game finished and jimmy saw us in our Everton shirts and asked if we could help one of the youth team players go to the top of the road and get 20 fish and chips and bring them back to the coach. The youth player was Eddie Youds. We were just about to go and jimmy went its ok lads. Ive got someone to help him now. Who turned out to be john ebbrell. Pretty sure he was the teams coach driver back then.
