It's not Robles fault - but I do not think he is the answer for our GK problem.
ATM we have no other choice, who is the next in line if Robles is injured???

Perfectly sums up my sentiments. He's certainly improved over the last handful of games, especially with regards to last night which was pleasing.Let's not get carried away with him eh.... personally, I still have massive reservations about him.
There can be a middle ground sometime you know, players aren't either awful or amazing.
The young lad Griffiths.ATM we have no other choice, who is the next in line if Robles is injured???

Buy a keeper now - the window is open - Why wait until the last day of the window.
Each place you finish higher in the league you get 600,000 - we need to sort the team out now (not later).

I think the point of debate has to be whether Howard or Robles are adequate, rather than expecting our third choice keeper to be outstanding. Is RM playing that game with a revolver and only one bullet, called Russian Roulette, it seems like it. We shout out for the likes of Barkely to get with it but RM needs to do so as well.
Totally agree. However the fact that he's not as good as De Gea doesn't make him a bad keeper.Exactly it's a ridiculous comparison, especially when people try to claim he has ever been ahead of De Gea
You don't know Robles won't be great. He's been pretty awesome so far and most of the Wigan fans thought he would be a future star. Getting someone else still comes with risks. If they're really that great then by 28 someone would have bought them by then. Maybe we should just take the risk and play Robles. Worst case scenario he doesn't meet expectations and we play Howard and buy a keeper in the summer. The alternative is to bin a good young GK now for who knows costing us money and maybe even a great goalkeeper for the future.I think the point of debate has to be whether Howard or Robles are adequate, rather than expecting our third choice keeper to be outstanding.
Most third choice keepers are pretty inexperienced and Griffiths is no difference: some may be better; some are worse; most are kids.
What we genuinely need to ask is whether money should be spent on a new keeper? If so (my inclination), is it to replace Howard or Robles?
Howard is not without his flaws, but I doubt employing someone to from the offset replace him will be cheap. Like for like is pointless and risky.
The cheaper option of replacing Robles is itself not without risks. Do we want to someone who'll actually challenge Tim, or just better than Joel?
The former option itself is again not going to come without a few pennies, so simply replacing Robles appears to keep the status quo.
Tim isn't great and neither is Robles, but unless it's going to clearly improve the squad then I think we should wait until the summer.
Bringing a name in to cover just for a couple of weeks seems needless and frivolous. I want someone who comes and stays!
The question is when are going to start climbing the table?
To be fair you are right, I do not 'know' he will be great. However, I do have fair reservations as I would contest that he's been 'awesome'.You don't know Robles won't be great. He's been pretty awesome so far and most of the Wigan fans thought he would be a future star.
Apart from the fact he couldn't save a penalty to save his life
