Joel Robles

He was good last night but let's not get carried away. While I feel he will improve with game time, I reckon we still need to get a new GK, question is, who does he replace - Robles or Tim?

And while this brings nothing to the conversation, I did this while waiting for the toaster and coffee pot this morning while the wee 'un had her breakfast. Isn't it neat?

No mate.

Fair play he was outstanding last night from first minute to the last. A heroic display. Shame couldn't just keep the damn ball down for his penalty, but it's McGeady's fault we lost, not Robles'.

Ah this total and utter myth once again,

Joel played 7 games (at least 2 as a sub) for Spains age group sides in his whole life

De Gea played 63 games

De Gea was also playing for the Athletico 1st before Joel (who was never 1st choice there) depsite being an age group younger

Fair enough, my bad

Was really good. The sort of standard we need to see from a keeper week in week out.

Do that every week and the spots yours Joel.

Let's not get carried away with him eh.... personally, I still have massive reservations about him.

There can be a middle ground sometime you know, players aren't either awful or amazing.

Robles made some good saves, he never keeps a clean sheet.

Is he the answer for our GK problems - no.

We need a solid keeper - the defense are getting used to him, but we are not winning any games - 1 win in 12 games (that was against QPR, who were bottom or 2nd bottom then). 2 Wins in the last 13 premier league games (nearly half a season).

Cannot really point the finger at Robles for our poor results of 2 wins in last 13 PL games.

Commanded his box exceptionally last night, which has been one of his main criticisms

He also gets points for nearly destroying Carroll with that punch. Took no prisoners there (even Stones)
