Joel Robles

Ive got nothing to prove, the facts have been posted countless times over the last 2 years. If you seek answer to thy questions, search function is always available
Here's the question I have: why aren't we any better with Robles in goal than with Howard? He looks like he's playing well, but our results are terrible with him in goal. Relegation terrible. We've won one match in the last two months, and it was the one match he didn't start. Same with last season's run when Howard was out; he looked great (definitely better than Howard looked last season), but we only picked up six points in the six matches he started. Why don't we play well with Robles in goal? Will the search function answer that?

Because the other players have simply downed tools over the last couple of months.

And they picked them up again against Bournemouth? What about last season when Robles looked so good with Howard out but we still got only six points in six matches?

It's puzzling. I genuinely think that Robles isn't worse than Howard, but I can't figure out why we do so poorly with him in goal. It's not even as if he's conceding more goals than Howard, even after the last few disasters. Maybe he's just been unlucky with his timing, but we're looking at more than twenty matches over the last two seasons and it's weird the way that Bournemouth match just sticks out like a sore thumb, both in terms of the actual result and in terms of how we played. Is his distribution doing something strange to the way we attack or something?

You mean the Bournemouth game where howard let the ball go through him. We won that purely because Bournemouth our absolutely crap away from home and we still struggled.

The 6 last year he was so so for the first 2 then really good in the 4, difficult games if i remember right

This year when he came into the team, he and the team were doing well, conceding considerably less than when howard was in goal and getting positive results.
The last several games theres clearly been a break down between the players and bobby and as a result the majority of the squad are barely turning up. Nothing to do with Joel, in fact We could have de gea in goal atm and it wouldn't matter. The sheer volume of shots Joels faced in the last few games is an embarrassment to the players in front of him. Countless times players have ran through on the 1v1 . We could have easily conceded 6-7s in some of them games if it wasnt for Robles.

Bit of a bad one today but overall hes been one of if not the best performer since he came in

I thought he was a bit unlucky with the third goal.

He kept it out, only for it to rebound off one of three Everton defenders stood like statues staring at him and fall to Kone.

Sunderland is absolutely crap at home, though. Take away their matches against us and Bournemouth has a better record away than Sunderland does at home. And I'm not saying Howard was good at preventing goals, just that the Bournemouth match is the only one in the last two months where we looked remotely bothered.

Not good enough. Lucky to be considered as 1st reserve. We need a change if we are ambitious. Playing better than Howard does not justify him being our number one next year

Point is, any GK in this environment would suck. Not that Robles was that good to begin with.

We should bench all of the first team except the super old and super young against Norwich.
Farewell for the veterans and chance for the young.
If only the manager isn't Martinez.

imagine being so made up at someone making a mistake, the only thread you post after such a dreadful run, is that of the one player who has been doing well, imagine being that sad and desperate to defend howard, absolutely pathetic
No one is defending Howard. Get that out of your head. No one is happy that Robles had a bad day. Get that out of your head, too. People are trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with this club, that's all. For months, all we heard around here was that we just needed to drop Howard and everything would be fine. That obviously wasn't the case, so I'd like to figure out why.

Really? Show me the specifics or pipe down. The only list I've seen of goalkeeping errors this season is this one, which actually shows Everton goalkeepers not making any errors leading to goals this season.

Really?
