Yes fair enough anounced it on the day not two weeks off fgs!

I'm being pedantic here, but I've not heard or watched this interview. What's with this two weeks stuff ? We play Chelsea next weekend and then Swansea in three weeks.

Is Koeman saying Stek will still be out next week ?

Think people have gone over the top in relation to Robles replacing stek. Don't get me wrong I thought he well today, but apart from burnley's first goal last week he has barely put a foot wrong this season. He is very much in credit for his performances so far this season. If he makes mistakes like the burnley one in future games he deserves to be omitted, but not now. What is pleasing though is that Robles looked more confident and assured than last season and is obviously providing competition for stek in training.

Tim Howard would have kept a clean sheet today, he had next to nothing to do.

Let's look at the facts, Steklenburg was bought as a number two. Robles would have been out the door if we got a number one. he doesn't trust him for the league cup.

That's not my opinion but the opinion of one of the greatest centerbacks of previous generations.

This is it, in a nutshell.

Joking or what Timmy stuck to the line are talking about the same keeper Robles made three excellent saves today commanded his area - distribution was great - kept his eyes open unlike Timmy !
Look RK can play the Stek if he performs ok!
To an Annouce it two weeks before the next game it devavu for me!

This is the most telling observation. Koeman not trusting stek in goal against a championship side at home in the LC says it all.

To be fair to him, the howler performance at Sunderand aside, Robles was pretty sound throughout his extended run in goal last season.
True. But we still continued to ship goals at an alarming rate last season with him in goal. However I accept there were other factors naturally why we were so poor defensively.

Joel will be out the door soon enough, he's not trusted by Koeman.

He got really lucky today and didn't have to do much luckily.
Suggesting he was lucky today is very harsh. Thought he did his job competently, but will be amazed if he is still at the club next season.

If he was in goal against City we would have been beat comprehensively.

He got lucky that he was in against a toothless West Ham. Chelsea will be a different kettle of fish and I'm glad Koeman has come out straight away to say Steklenburg will be back in goal.

I feel reassured.

Joel did everything asked of him today, and that's all we can expect of him.

He did, but we got lucky he didn't have to do much.

It's not just me who thinks this, but our manager who wouldn't pick him for the League cup against lower league opposition. his days are numbered for the simple fact, he's not good enough.

He had a couple of MOTM games, Palace away and bizarrely Southampton at home when you think he would have impressed Koeman with his display. That said, when a genuine long-term no.1 keeper is signed, he is gone.
