He is so big yet light on his feet. Unsure of long term, but I certainly think he has improved.
he must have been watching another game the save from Silva was exceptional and at a crucial time.Utter rubbish worst post of today!
Also the whole game!
Bruce his record of clean sheets in a handful of games states he is the best we have atm!To an extent City were ideal opponents for him, as they never really stick crosses into the box, but he did all that was asked of him very well indeed, and you'd easily say he was the better of the two keepers, which given the stature Bravo has in the game is no mean feat.
Hey mate you still buzzingI just love Joel ! far better than most give him credit for on here ! the amount he has improved from the 1st time he played for us is incredible ! the way he runs out and smothers the ball when the opposition have a chance is 2nd to none for me ! his massive frame helps but he must make the goal look really small when he comes flying out ! and if he runs the length of the pitch to celebrate a goal with the players even better !
I hope he can step up and be a good number 1 as I really like him. He has the tools and he definitely gets Everton. Seems a nice lad too.
But if not I do hope he sticks around as our number 2. It's nice to have a keeper who can come in on short notice, often after not playing in months, and put in consistently solid performances.
I don't think he'll be good enough, long term to match our ambitions, so I think we'll be looking for a top class keeper this Summer.
I agree with you that he'd make a solid backup, but, if we do buy a better keeper then I'm going to put what might be best for Everton to one side and hope that Joel goes in search of regular first team football, and proves himself, or not as the case may be.
He's 26, whether it's here, or elsewhere, he needs to be playing week in, week out. Being sat on the bench shouldn't be a long term plan for him.
