Hmm not sure I agree mate. Palace he was class at coming off his line to catch the ball, and he done it when he could today.

Today was difficult, was very windy and difficult to judge the flight of the ball.

Think commanding the box is one of his better traits, something he is growing in to.

He is still improving, and like you say has some improving to do.. But he gets better every game, so I think he is on the right track.

Like I said earlier, the main thing top keepers do is keep you in games consistently with their saves. Since Joel has come in he's done that, can't ask for much more.

Aye and that's fair enough. I think he's on the right track deffo and is improving with every game.

I just think he can improve on it more at times if he wants to take the next step. Some games, and to be fair it's becoming rarer with each start but I think he finds himself stuck with indecision and at time can be flat footed on crosses but that's what I see.

He's a good lad and the potential is there. If we can get it out of him, great - we have a lad who loves it here and can play in goal well. If not, we move on and sign someone else. That's the nature of the beast.

Which makes it all the more remarkable that he nearly flapped it into the goal.

Still, two good saves first half. On another night (when Schneiderlin doesn't reach the heights he did today in his man of the match role) he'd be on the shortlist

You are right, consistency is key for a top keeper.
