Joel Robles

So you are saying the only wrong thing about Robles is his transfer fee?

No, he also isn't British....

If he were rubbish and played for England he would be OK...

(in all seriousness he clearly isn't top draw, but are we going to attract the next level up from him i.e. Courtious, De Gea, Lloris?)

i think there's a casm of difference in robles to those 3. they're all in the top 10 keepers in the world ha. We can definitely go for someone who's young and will be at that sort of stage in 3 or 4 years time though. Just like what united did with de gea, patience would be required. I think that's our best hope tbh.

For me, Schneiderlin showed for the ball and Joel gave it to him. Schneiderlin lost the ball, it's his fault.

I think he was flat footed for the 1st and disappointed he got beat from that distance, but it happens. The whole team weren't at it today, including the 4 DMs Koeman played, none of whom got close to Kane 40 yards from goal.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear the whole team had been up late watching the boxing, we just looked off the pace and our passing was atrocious.

One final point, last few years, Martinez was heavily criticised for Everton dangerously playing it out from the back and putting us under pressure. But today, it was solely down to Joel. The assumption being, this was not an order but a decision, but under Martinez it was not a decision, but an order?

Just wondering.

Told you all you would turn on him.

He had a bad game, but he deserves a second chance.

He looks good when he has nothing to do. I hope for his sake that his recent performances haven't been based on a house of cards and we are not going to find out his true form soon.

Pickford is the one, Five years younger and already played more first team games. Get him now at a decent price before it inflates and keep the Spanish Bobby Mimms for a laugh

i think this will be one of our priorities, i've really liked what i've seen of him. I was a butland fan, but i had some doubts about him. I rate pickford higher than him when he burst on the scene though. Sland are definitely down too. If you look at our rivals, city wil probably go for someone more high profile, arsenal will probably stick with cech, or buy pickford as second choice originally (would he want that?), RS have only just bought a young keeper so surely won't get another one. United, chelsea and spurs aint worth mentioning, so we do seem the most realistic. Bust a gut for him i say, keep the young revolution going!

Who is available who would come? Unless we leverage our relationship with Riaola to get someone like Donurumma then who is there who is better than Joel?
