Joel Robles

I'm sure they didn't blame Southall, thats the point. Not every goal has to have blame, but with sky, they make it that way, and the 4-4 was pre sky.

I'm surprised Schmeichel wasnt blamed for not saving Roms header that went in the centre of the goal.

They even tried to blame De Gea for Jags goal the other day.

Too much analysis and too much blame is ruining players and ruining the game.

Hey, that rhymes.

spot on, i just think it's typical british mindset to be honest, most of us over analyse the negatives as opposed to looking at the positives.

Personally I prefer him to Howard and we kept faith with Howard despite some incredible howlers each season.

No keeper (or player) is perfect. He's not Neville Southall, but who is? I can't see us buying a top quality proven keeper so I suspect we'll buy steady but unspectacular with the odd error. Or find a real prospect and develop them.

I disagree... The cross (and it was a cross) was whipped in high and at pace, and dropped (being the operative word) in the very top corner.

It was a fluke, and the people blaming him for it, be they on here or the 2 clowns on sky, are being unfair.

If that was Harry Kane or Delli Alli, they would only be raving about the goal, not the keeper. Because it's Albrighton and Joel, he definitely didn't mean it, it's a keeper error.

I just find the whole thing weird.

I find you trying to justify it as being acceptable from a keeper as weird.

What Albrighton intended is absolutely irrelevant, Joel totally misjudged it and not for the first time this week found himself in a quite ridiculous position.

I was really hoping Robles who had played so well up to the Spurs game might get the job full-time
but today's second goal was bad as have been a number of recent goals.

He is still only 23 years so he can remedy his errors but the free-kick was bad. Firstly Robles is a giant
so he should not be beaten in the air; he should have jumped with two arms not one; should have known that Albrighton
likes to surprise with a shot.

Robles can be upgradable but it's down to Koeman, is there an upgradable available? A top keeper can save you around 15 points a season.

I would put a keeper on the summer list

If he would have stood in the place where the ball went and it didn't go there (as it would 99% of the time) then he would have looked daft when someone like Huth had an easy header.

Its one of them, it happens.

Well this is it, there is no point getting some of the goalkeepers named (Schmeichel, Heaton, Pickford etc) because they are not a significant enough upgrade (or even an upgrade full stop) on Robles.

There is no point having 3 half decent premier league goalies which would be the case if we got someone like them in.

Massive improvement otherwise there are more pressing areas to look at.

Absolutely agree, I've been saying this for ages.

So, out of curiosity, what would those 15 points be this season? Since you brought it up...

Yes he would have but he didn't and it didn't. Just a standard goalkeeping position to make the save would have been fine.

Some made excuses being trotted out for him.
