John Stones transfer saga

Good man, Aaron....that was a great interview.

Ped sure put his points across in an assured and calm manner.

Cundy gave up the ghost halfway through when he tried the old message board troll trick of deflecting the argument by throwing sommat else in and accusing Ped of being "bitter"

Ped swatted him aside like a fly and Cundy piped down.

And they have asked Ped to come on again Tuesday night after the window closes lol

Brilliant work in that interview. Old mate bizarrely started screaming that Everton fans have a chip on their shoulder, and Ped just continued to try to describe the actual situation.

So many people are so out of touch on this, and most of it stems from the fact they believe the financial status quo MUST be obeyed. Everton are doing a great thing here.

Cohen is a Chelsea fan and even he admits that fees are most likely to go up and if we hold onto our star players things could get more interesting at the top...

@MiguelDelaney: @JakeFCohen @malharcfc08 yeah, and that's why it'll be interesting to see if likes of Everton hold off re Stones, too.
@JakeFCohen: @MiguelDelaney @malharcfc08 fees only going to continue to explode, esp w PL clubs sharing extra £700m next season in domestic TV £ alone
@JakeFCohen: @MiguelDelaney @malharcfc08 EFC obviously knows this, still a lot to turn down. Agree, will definitely be interesting to see final outcome!
@MiguelDelaney: @JakeFCohen @malharcfc08 will say a lot about new club power of mid-ranking sides if Everton end up holding firm...
@JakeFCohen: @MiguelDelaney @malharcfc08 true, if EFC/Soton start keeping stars + THFC/LFC close gap at top w all poaching from abroad, v competitive?
@JakeFCohen: @MiguelDelaney @malharcfc08 obv still going to be massive difference btw MUFC + Soton, but cd mean top 4 more competitive year to year

Have to say mate I disagree.

He saved himself in the last couple of minutes from losing the argument really. That's why we can't sell Stones.

Yes, I got to about 12 mins thinking it wasn't going well.

"If this happened 4 weeks ago would it be a problem?"..."No"

I think that answer contradicted his point about damaging the side that's being built. The point he made at the end.

Having said that, wanting to build a truly competitive & challenging side is what it's all about for me, and he made that point well.

Thanks for me not being the only one.
I think @the esk would have made the points better. I also don't think his tone of voice has the confidence behind it when making an argument, making him sound a bit overawed, for lack of better word.
Don't want to sound all negative, but thankfully he saved the day in the end, although leaving it so late kind of loses relevance.

You know what? 40 million is a lot of money and I am almost tempted to say that maybe we should have sold him.
But Either way I am happy!

Yeah, but in fairness, he got on the radio, got some good points across, and has said what many of us would've liked to. Well in Ped! ;)

*Re-reading my previous, the 'contradiction' I mentioned may have been mitigated by having more time to get a quality replacement in...if one exists!
