All good points mate.
My own view is that virtually every club has to deal and trade and even the richest get offers for their players which they respond to(Luiz...Ronaldo when at Man U etc) however many pundits have confused in this case the general points of the value of getting a great deal for a player or the wisdom of keeping an unhappy one with the specifics of this Stones move including the v low initial offer, JM's patronising attitude, the media campaign, the timing and our apparent lack of replacements lined up all of which have combined to shape our stance so far. Most importantly they seem to find it hard to see that for good or bad RM seems to see this as a major test of his whole strategy so it has become much more for him than just any old transfer. A bit like he stood up to Moyes and Man U with Baines/Fellaini because it was his first challenge when just arrived. Like teacher with first scallywag!!! I also think in that case the patronising attitude of others stiffened his resolve too.
He stood firm on Baines but was prepared to trade Felaini because he had a plan ....McCarthy (and possibly Barry in mind)
Our current strategy is not without risks of course but basically the club has to make a decision and ATM seems to be backing RM's preference.
