lol

This bit in particular made me laugh "So instead of giving Everton lots of money, like they tried to do this summer, Chelsea will spread their spending out among more clubs, then eventually make money off Everton because of it."

For one it conjures up the image of Chelsea eagerly stacking wad upon wad of cash on a table all summer and Kenwright shaking his head when in reality it was only the past week that they have offered decent money.

And secondly is the logic - if we won't sell them Stones because we are trying to build a team why would we ruin that by then selling Ledson at the first offer only to buy his equivalent back a couple of years later at a higher fee?!

I think their logic was that Chelsea would have snapped up players like Stones from Barnsley for 5M and then if they don't make it they would sell them to us for more as we would still need players... ignores the fact that the tV money allows us to go anywhere globally for improved talent though...

He ignores the example of the best manager Alex Ferguson, who was able to combine money with bringing players through, the problem is that Jose et al are just cheque-book managers. They are incapable of building a team any other way.

It also ignores the likelihood that at some point young players are going to realise that being part of a good academy has its benefits but if you can't actually play then it doesn't do your development much benefit.

Stones at 21 has 25 senior appearances for Barnsley and 47 for Everton, he's highly unlikely to have got that playing time coming through the Chelsea or City academies.

If the article is true I believe it would be a good thing for football as the current game is obscene and the little lower league clubs are truly skint

Imagine the TV money being withdrawn to a massive lot less, bye bye Chelsea

This is hilarious.

"Shut up and take your place, plucky little Everton!" And blame us for "breaking football." Seriously, go do one.

It's not going to gut our youth team, because the more clubs that can't develop the needed homegrown players means the price of English-born lads will rise and rise and rise and rise.

One of the reasons we do as well as we do on a very limited transfer budget is that we can actually build players here. It's going to get increasingly inefficient to buy your way to a title.

And this is only a good thing.

I have been a critic of BK but in this I have to say "Well done BK"

Have you not read anything SB Nation Soccer wrote? BK isn't here just to ruin Everton, that isn't enough for his appetites, his raison d'etre is nothing less the complete destruction of football, it's as clear as day, it might seem like we have decided not to sell, but that is just the beginning of his plan. It is truly the end of times.
