John Stones transfer saga

Having said that, not that Stones is moving, but why do we all of sudden think he is happy with the situation he finds himself in?
People seem to think all is rosy and he wants to be here?

The article shows how spoilt footballers are, stones will be fuming now but who cares, Chelsea don't want to pay the asking price as they want him for less then 30 million. The club comes before Stones

What asking price? He isn't for sale. There is no asking price.
He wants a move though, so while I agree the media are in general a joke, I can understand that the player should be trying to force through the move he desires by Tuesday.

But he signed a contract...he can try, but he has no say in the matter really. His transfer request has been denied. End of the soap opera you so want to exist.

I agree with you re Savage. No I don't believe that Stones will be a negative factor in the rooms at all.
But we all need to remember that while we are happy with the stance the Manager and Board have taken, we still have a player that wants to leave..and realistically his agent will still be trying to make that move happen as soon as possible.
I don't see how we can all view John Stones the same again really after he blindsided us all with a transfer request a week before the close of the window, no doubt in collusion with the Chelski Manager all along.

He will be gone next summer

No Kith, wanted to leave not wants.

The player was badly advised by his agent. It is him you should be turning against, not the player, who will have been reassured by everyone at EFC that his future lies here, at least for the forseeable future.

After the window closes, expect him to be offered a new and improved contract to reflect this. ;)

Making a bit presumption there. We have no way of knowing this to be fact. But we can all hope. And for the record I have not turned against John Stones. I just feel we all need to stop patting ourselves on the back with our stance for a minute and realise the possibility of the alternative view...

A must. Look like we are keeping a player totally against his will and will have media pressure on us constantly until January.

Oh will you stop! Everyone at EFC deserves a pat on the back for their conduct throughout this and the resulting outcome.

I'm not saying you have turned against Stones. But you appear to still blame him solely for the events of the last few days which is why I mentioned the agent and his influence over the player. Of course it is a presumption to say that he was badly advised but I believe it is a fairly accurate one. Especially as our manager said just that.
