Let's take off our blue tinted glasses for a moment and think about it logically.

Stones is a very level headed intelligent young man, not like Sterling who is solely motivated by money.

We can offer him a first team start practically every game this season. Chelsea would be a squad player this season.

Europe, no games for us this season. Champions league with Chelsea.

Last seasons performance Everton 11th, Chelsea champions.

Money, currently 30K with us. Chelsea would offer in excess of 100K.

The killer for me is that John Stones wants to be the best defender he can. Who is the best manager in the world, and the best defensive manager as well. To have the opportunity to work with the greatest manager is the killer for me.

He'll play for Chelsea one day, he's a natural replacement for Terry. Honestly he is the brightest young talent of his generation and will go right to the very top, we need to ensure he leaves us as the most expensive English defender in history

Here's hoping we get CL next season so he could stay beyond next season, however I think you're right. Going absolutely nowhere with our board currently.

United asked Ronaldo to give them one more year and he did, as with the RS & Saurez.
Bet if Real Madrid came in for Aguero now Man City could do nothing about it

Has been known that Jose wants Stones and Zouma to be the future of Chelsea's defence.

Thought we would have got another season off him.

I think he's worried Man City or Utd will come in next summer and push the price too high. i don't think Chelsea can compete with them.

For us that's exactly what we have to make sure happens.

Not really. Every team in England can potentialy lose their best player to a bigger club

He isnt worth 50 million, so we arent holding out for that, in fact every year from now until he retires we wouldnt sell him for 50 unless he started scoring 20 goals a season on top of defending.

If chelsea or united or arsenal or city want stones then he is gone. Not a half arsed bid way but a genuine way, we WILL sell him. we cant afford not to, proof being we sell any player we get a real bid for. No point in denying we would sell, course we will, plus the money flowing into the club would make the books look better.

BUT

we dont know if sky are just printing nonsence and we dont know if chelsea actually want him. If anything there is a club down the local moterway in the market for a new centre half who are throwing the cash around that may be interested.

Sorry but what is the actual point of Modern Football. Start to build a good team, team with more money comes in and takes player and we're back to square one. Same teams win title every year. It's a never ending cycle these days
