John Stones transfer saga

Unfortunately everyone has a price, Stones has played 44 games for Everton and a £30 million profit is good business by anyone's standards. Yes he has potential but so has Barkley, last summer he was being sold for big money and a year later after a poor season there is not even a Dail Mail rumour about him leaving!
I'd sell but insist on a year long loan back, gives the likes of Galloway another season to develop, invest the money as we alway have done and move on
Stones is in a different bracket to ross
And why the hell would we want a loan back, so small time, why not keep him instead and watch his value grow

They all would join for money.

Perhaps not sneider but we couldnt pay his wages anyway, only included him as his transfer fee would be low enough
On that list you put, witsel and neves would cost individually pretty much all what we get in for Stones, plus i think witsel is off to either milan or Juventus.

Half of them are completly untested in tough leagues, and the other half wouldnt come to us

Supporters tend to see things in a completely different light from players who in reality, save the very very odd exception, are just employees who in the blink of an eye will go to where they can earn more, push themselves more or even to massage their ego
The most dangerous type of person to run a huge multi million pound business, which is what a PL club has become, is a supporter whilst some will argue that supporters view will give them an advantage the reality is in terms of hard nosed business decisions they can't or perhaps more to the point aren't able to stand back and make the really difficult business calls
When people talk of £40 million or more that's not going to happen either now or indeed 2 or so years. defenders are always cheaper than forwards and indeed top midfielders.
Did Chelsea get £50m for Luiz? T very much doubt it was even €50M more around £35 million with fees to agents included
This transfer will, if it happens be around £30 M but will only happen if the player wants to go
They did get 50 for him.

Defenders can be similarly priced to attackers and midfielder because of the lack of genuinely talented ones out there now

Er, no. He was only just first choice last season.

Ferdinand had played champions league semi finals etc etc. Not even close.
When ferdinand went for £30m that was massive at the time. The equivilant of about £60m now. Stones isn't as proven at the moment. Which is why we'd be better off waiting until he is before we sell him.

How do you know they wouldnt come to us? Neves wouldnt cost as much as you think as he is still young, so easily enough to sign a defender with the rest of the money.

But players cannot be proven in the leagues unless they come to it. Eriksen wasnt proven, hazard wasnt proven, ronaldo wasnt proven yet they didnt exaclty fail did they?

And price wise, all within our price range if we sold stones. Hazard top end of the budget sure but not every young player goes for that amount.

But yeah, how can you expect the team to improve if we dont invest? and how do you expect us to sign better players with an atitude of 'he wouldnt sign anyway'.

I mean jesus we just signed one of the best young strikers in europe and 12 months before the loan was annoucned you would have said the same about him!

Where is everyone getting 15% from?

Still wouldn't sell for anything less than £45 million if Chelsea don't pay that someone else will in 1-2 years time
