John Stones transfer saga

Utter speculation. Still my argument is sound, they chose Man City due to the development opportunities allowed to them around the stadium. Not because they were Man City; one of the historic old guard of English football.

Where are the buyers? I'm not seeing every other club being snapped up by these mystery billionaires. You want the board to just walk away?
You clearly have issues - however as with every anti-board protester repeating the same rhetoric ad-infinitum - What are the options? Where is your advice? There's no solution, just anger.

We are where we are because the business of football has changed and we are on the outside looking in these days.
Development opportunities? Like the development opportunities that this board has continually missed out on?!

Where are the buyers you ask? I'm pretty sure the majority of Premier League clubs have had a takeover of some sorts while Kenwright has remained in charge. Are you seriously suggesting there has never been serious interest?

Also, my issue is with the board. You carry on burying your head in the sand. You are doing this club no favours.

incase you are wondering, we are not crazy!

Joey Barton quoted saying if sterling is worth 49m and stones worth 20m then the football world doesn't make sense anymore.

That's damning with faint praise the role he has with us. He's more than a runner, he keeps the ball ticking over for a team that plays possession football. He's the cornerstone.

Lukaku's goals also make him indispensable.
I don't disagree with Lukaku although not sure why you brought him into it.

McCarthy keeps things ticking over? That's my point. Players who play those positions need to either a) score goals or b) be able to start attacks with a wide range of passing. Unfortunately McCarthy lacks both, he's great defensively but not so much with the ball. That makes him a player we can replace.

What would be your thoughts if stones asked for 60/70k a week to sign a 5 year deal and gave EFC his word that he'd stay for at least 3 years if you wanted him to ?
Depends on what he's on now, I suppose.

I wonder how complex wage structures can be in salary negotiations. For instance, can the club suggest a clause that says "in year one of your contract, you will be paid £40k per week; in year two, you will get £48k per week, in year three it will rise to £58k and in year four you will go up to £70k"? Presumably there are performance bonuses: goals scored, assists, clean sheet bonus etc etc.

I would offer him a six year deal. In that six year deal I would offer a minimum fee release clause around £55m, and make it so that it was only valid after the third year of his deal was complete.

Listen chaps, he knows it will do his career no good to sit on Chelsea's bench when he could be England's CB for years if he plays regularly as first choice with us.
