I love how now on Talksport, they are mentioning how it was ok for us take him from Barnsley.....

No mention of this about QPR and Raheem.

yes, but i wouldnt call signing a striker on yearly installments splashing the cash either. We are paying lukaku off over 5 years, and if his agent is to be believed we will probably be paying for him after he has long gone. So no, that isnt splashing the cash whatsoever.

and signing his loan players? i am wrong? Barry and lukaku? Besic on the cheap as well. So where am i wrong?
Covered that one - to quote myself "If you had said "Second year was signing 2 loan players, getting a lad he wanted cheap and spending £27/28m on one player" you would have been correct."

BTW, I feel so much better about my mortgage now. ;)

Also don't see too much of the "Stones should stay at Everton for a few more years to get playing time rather than sit on the bench" editorial comments that you got with the Sterling coverage or even with Delph.

And that despite Chelsea/Mourinho having at least as bad a record of playing young English players as City do.

Mourinho's comments when Luka Shaw signed for Man Utd

“If we pay to a 19-year-old boy what we were being asked for, to sign Luke Shaw, we are dead,” he said. “We would have killed our stability with financial fair play and killed the stability in our dressing room.

“Because when you pay that much to a 19-year-old kid – a good player, fantastic player – but when you pay that amount of money, the next day, we would have had players knocking on our door.

“They would have been saying, ‘How is it possible I play 200 games for this club, won this and that, yet a 19-year-old comes here and gets more money than I get?’

“It would’ve killed immediately our balance and we couldn’t allow that. I don’t criticise another club for paying it. They can pay what they want. I don’t have any comment about it. But for my club we can say it would be very negative for us "

He's a grade A class-less hypocritcal bell end !!

I also don't recall a drawn out saga where Moyes repeatedly spoke to the press and Jagielka talked about how good it would be for Stones' career to leave.

...reflecting the idiocy of Talksport contributors. Totally missing the point. Conducting/transacting transfer activity in a professional manner is not the current issue; conducting it unprofessionally, is.

Yesterday Durham said that Sterling was honest enough and made it clear he wanted to leave, when referencing the Delph issue, so he popcorned Liverpool fans yesterday.

I've a worrying feeling that 40% of the posters in this thread have not eaten or slept since this news broke.
Ive done no work at all today.
Just kept refreshing the sports news.
Im waiting on the presser.
" as soon as the player said he wanted to move, we done the best deal we could for everton football club "
