Oh good god.
not adovcating a sale mate. just explaining why the club would never come out and say "not for sale for any price". been saying that we've played it well ignoring the media circus around it, martinez said his piece when the first bid became public and moved on

You sure look to be advocating a sale

caught me.... stick to FFP lad

exactly. we don't need to sell and there has been no indication that we want to sell either. typical end of the world, over the top gloom from this forum

They could offer that contract no matter what our manager says. Also another small matter, he's contracted to everton who doesn't need to sell

Exactly which further reinforces he's not leaving. The day leading up to the bid he said he was happy here and wanted to progress here

so we told chelsea and west ham to do one...maybe everyone will calm down

We already said he's not for sale

except they have said they wrote to chelsea saying he's not for sale

or we already told chelsea no and don't feel the need to do everything through the press. chelsea making everything public is a tactic on their part

I agree and think that's why Martinez and others at the club aren't jumping into the media to respond to all of mourinhos comments. It's obviously frustrating him that we aren't getting involved in a media spat

Which is why all the uproar and meltdown over the whole scenario is way over the top. Stones has a four year deal and has given no indication he wants to leave. The manager has come out and said we don't need to sell

yeah doesnt work like that mate. you'd be betting on 3 new players to come in and all by a rousing success. selling one player for big money and bringing in 3+ players with that money hasn't really worked recently in the prem (Spurs and the RS)

Wait so now people are worried because there HASNT been a second bid. Sake

Baines as well. Like you said Martinez or the club getting involved in a media spat over it just plays into Chelsea's and Mourhino's hands. You could tell he was getting frustrated by his later comments and the need to get players like Cahill involved

Wonderful article in the Mirror, Everton are simultaneously not willing to sell and demanding 34m. Also quite how Everton can be portrayed as the hostage takers of John Stones is unclear although tbf it often doesn't look like we feed the poor lad enough.

Chelsea will make their second bid for Everton defender John Stones within the next 48 hours. The Toffees are demanding around £34million, which would break British record fee for a defender. The Champions, however, will offer £26m after having a £20million bid rejected two weeks ago.

Stones played all 90 minutes of Everton’s 3-1 win over Hearts alongside Phil Jagielka as the Merseyside club began their mini-tour of Scotland yesterday. He is seen at Stamford Bridge as a natural heir to skipper John Terry.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez and owner Bill Kenwright have so far insisted the England international is not for sale. But Chelsea are keen to sign him before the start of the new season, possibly even before Sunday’s Community Shield against Arsenal. Despite that, the Londoners are determined not to be held to ransom.

......looking increasingly like it's a matter of how much we get for the lad. Like most, I would prefer him to stay. Like most I can only see his value rising in future seasons. Rather than a prolonged saga, if he is not for sale Everton should publicly say he's not for sale at any price. If we are willing to let him go we should come out and tell suitors how much we want. That figure should be around £40m at the very least.
