John Stones transfer saga

Baines was worth more to us than united so it never happened whether it's the same with Stones only time will tell. The manager simply can't say he isn't for sale though as we've no idea how high Chelsea will go and I also think it risks alienating the player .

Ultimately If Chelsea really want the lad they'll get him and I think we all know that personally I hope it doesn't happen obviously .

I highly doubt that Chelsea have gone from 20m to a potential 45m in a little under a week. If true, then yes that is enormous money for a centrehalf and very difficult to refuse.

This is the most sensitive information possible as far as Everton are concerned at the moment. It involves an enormous bundle of cash and the loss of a player.
If we have access to that level of information, then there should be no problem finding out which players we are bringing in.

I have no doubt that people are passing on information in good faith and we all know that John Stones is subject to a bid and there is a possibility he could leave, I just don't believe there is any more information than that available.

From this mornings Guardian...

Chelsea will make a £26m bid for John Stones within the next 48 hours. José Mourinho remains desperate to sign the Everton defender and has not been put off by Roberto Martínez’s anger over the battle for his signature.

There is no battle, we have his signature and four more years of it if we hold our nerve.

The Premier League champions had a bid of £20m turned down by Martínez last week with the Spaniard furious with Mourinho, his Chelsea counterpart, for openly talking about the move.

Yet the Portuguese has seen his defenders struggle so far during the club’s North America tour and will push on with his pursuit of the England international.

Tough titty Jose, live with it if your defenders are gash.

Stones, 21, is understood to be keen on a transfer to the Premier League champions and knows the option of playing Champions League football next season will ultimately be too good an offer to refuse.

Absolutely nothing anywhere to suggest he is keen to move, more media BS.

Relations between the two clubs remain strained and hearing Gary Cahill, who has played with Stones for England, commenting last week how beneficial it would be to have him at Stamford Bridge did not go down well on Merseyside.

Mourinho, however, has not been deterred and is hopeful a fee can be agreed before the start of the Premier League season on 8 August.

Stand firm Everton, do not get bullied into this !!!

Stones is seen as the perfect long-term replacement for John Terry. The fee could go higher than £30m depending on how long Martínez digs his heels in.

Bang out of order journalism, makes it sound like we're being petulant over wanting to retain a contracted player. Keep on digging our heels in Blues, screw Chelsea and the Sky darlings.

It will represent the first major spending of the summer for Chelsea after bringing in Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco and signing Asmir Begovic from Stoke.

Mourinho has watched with interest as his Premier League rivals spend huge amounts to wrest domestic power away from Chelsea.

After Saturday’s friendly win over PSG here he accused Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool of trying to buy the title.

The hypocrisy is unreal... He wants to spend whatever it takes to prise Stones away from us and yet accuses others of buying the title.

“In the beginning of Mr Abramovich coming to Chelsea, Chelsea was buying the title,” said Mourinho. “Now, they are buying the title. All of them, they are buying the title. It is up to us to be strong and to fight them and, obviously, to try and win it again, even without the big investments.”

Without the big investments? Well phoook off and leave Stones and Everton alone ya blert.

Well dissected. Incredible how a journalist has the gall to insinuate we're the unreasonable ones if we don't sell OUR player for less than what we feel he's worth. Guardian should be ashamed of publishing that guff, they're off my reputable sources list now.

If these sharks think the pricing is too high, don't bid, wait another couple of years when he's England's best defender, holding down a regular national team place, then you can bid £60m and we will accept it.

It's all gravy to us.

More and more convinced he won't go to Chelsea. Mourinho has had a shocker, and Roberto would be happy to point out to john that he should be aiming higher, he's a barca player all over. Would love to see him at Barca compared to any other team in the world, second only to him being our captain till he retires.

If it was Barca, they would not be able to play him till January. So more than likely loan him straight back to us for the season. Don't think the crowd could hate him for joining Barca

Probably all jarg info, disappointed I never made it up.

Just copy and paste it then find/replace Barcelona for Real Madrid.
