The media are asking everyone they can get hold of for a view on the Stones business...because they know that whatever gets said, it can be spun into more reasons for us to sell. Its all part of the media effort to sell our players, exactly like every other summer.

At best his words were unwise. Not such much as implying we're a small club but the notion that stones should leave. Maybe this is a little payback to Martinez after they fell out, but his comments are hurtful to the rest of the supporters. Wouldn't see those comments from the likes of Cahill who played in the same team has in. Just another example of the majority of players being mercenaries and only bothered about their bank balances.

Sorry mate, don't agree. He's already come out on Twitter to praise Everton. Just think it was a slip of the tongue really.

I think you're being a bit OTT. I think if you printed out the list of things that have caused us to go downhill in the past 30 years, Distin would be so far down that list you'd run out of paper before you got to his name.

This is the exact thing for me. I don't think anyone expects him to stay with us forever. That's just not realistic these days sadly, but we'd get sooooo much more for him next summer.

We know it and board knows it. We wont sell him cause it's win win for us.

He stays it's huge imago win for us
And even if we should lose him next summer we would get much more dough than what we would get now.

He didnt call us small, he simply said we arent big and hes right.

The memories of 85 are fading in my drug addled memory, but they are there and at that time, we were probably the best club in the world, but that was 30 years ago, its 20 years since we won even a pot and our highest finish recently has been 4th, once.

We have a rich history and have won loads, but the here and now, we are an also ran of a club, fighting against our "betters", I love Everton, its my life, but we are no longer a big club and we probably havent been 1 since Sky invented the Premier League.

Wake up and smell the coffee lads.

We as fans still believe in NSNO, but sadly its unrealistic these days.
