It's too near close season to sell any centre back even Jags - start the season with a new partnership would suicide!
I normally agree with you, but it's impossible to tell how much he'll be worth in a year, isn't it? Just look at Barkley. He hasn't even been linked to anyone this summer.
Hope for the best, but anything can happen.
Unless the figure is absolutely ridiculous, I don't think Martinez will sell him. Not this summer, not next, not ever.
As others have stated, if Stones leaves, so does Lukaku, Barkley, McCarthy and on it goes.
Our supporters are stuck in the Moyes mindset of "we don't sell cheap"
Read the article below and get over it. The landscape is changing and rather then us being worried, I think it's the established CL clubs that should be looking over their shoulder.

But that ignores the fact that we only have two current CBs who have played a premier league game in the position. If we sell one of them two weeks before the season starts then we either have
A) Jags paired with an inexperienced Browning/Galloway or
B) Jags paired with one the presumably two replacements we will buy with the money with little to none training ground practice to build up a rapport.
There are large economic risks in either of those approaches given how important early momentum is and how much each position in the league table is worth.

been thinking about this Barca <-> Martinez relationship. Could Barca use it to sneak into discussions. If you think about Barcelonas defensive line and especially their CB situation you cant ignore the fact that they are getting older.
Pique's only 28 mate.
But in a few years would have no issue with Stones going there for £78m.
He doesnt have an "English" premium if goes to Barcelona does he?
Not that that comment adds anything to the thread mind. Feel free to neg.
No, but he would have the Barca/Real premium. Teams know they're the richest (or second and third) clubs in the world, and therefore drive up their prices.
