If we sell, which I dont think we will btw, not for anything other than bonkers cash, a sell on agreement is largely pointless imo. He is there for 10 years, at least.

It makes no difference, really. We got him for 3 mil. The profit will be pretty much be the whole transfer fee we recieve if we sell him.

Makes hardly any difference as he only cost us 3 mil. Let's say we accept 25 mil and the sell on clause is 15%.

If it's 15% of the sale then Barnsley get 15% of 25 mil, which is 3.75 mil.

If it's 15% of the profit then that's 15% of 22 mil, which is 3.3 mil.

Think % of profit tends to happen with more established players that are being sold for higher prices.

% of sale tends to happen with young players who haven't done much but potentially could go on to be worth loads.

As people have said though, in this case won't make much of a difference.
