John Stones transfer saga

I don't know if you have ever seen a player transfer contract but the mutual agreement to change of terms clause is a standard term. The key is 'mutual'.

Yes but the regulations say that Everton are prohibited from allowing Chelsea undue influence.

So Everton couldn't agree anything that would impact the Lukaku transfer payment schedule and certainly couldn't link anything to the transfer of John Stones or that would be a clear breach of the rules.

As I said this isn't a trade in goods or services. Is an acquisition.

But with its own set of regulations to protect the integrity of the sport.

He's got a long way to go Stones. Let another club take the risk of turning him from very good to great. We have more pressing matters.

Needs must I'm afraid.
Than keeping hold of the next England captain?

I remember everybody going into meltdown last year over Baines.

Move forward 12 months, same old same old......club sources say "not for sale" the anti depressants haven't kicked in yet for some so "it's only a matter of time until we cave in".

It's boring now, if he stays hurrah, if he goes, he will go for top dollar, it's win win I suppose!

That's true, I (nor anyone else) know that for sure...but here we are with 10 days to go until the season KO and we're short three players at least and have nothing in the pipeline.

I know what conclusion I draw.

For what his comments are worth, Martinez did say we'd sign a couple at the beginning of the window and a couple at the end, which indicates we're looking at adding at least two more without necessarily having to make a major sale.

I guess we'll see.

This has to be our way forward. It's not ideal, but we can make a lot of good use with the cash.

I reiterate though: it's a disgrace that we get £35M in this summer and we're having to sell great potential in order to buy.

The blunt reality is Everton recruit well but lack the funds to do it as much as we'd like. I am not saying we should sell Stones, but the world will not cave in if we sell him. We have sold many star players over recent years, yet the club always managed to survive.

That's a massive statement, Bryan. He's miles off. I'm Jagielka's biggest critic when he's screwed things up, but he was the defender last season that put the performances in during the last third of the season that made the difference. Stones has a lot of weaknesses in the defensive side of matters. He'll be an England player regularly enough, of course. But £30M+ is compensation enough for a eaw talent like this.

Not convinced he's got the ability to be a Pique, tbh.

But you said you have a 100% record of knowing what our transfer budget is. What is it then?
