John Stones transfer saga

It must be worth pointing out for all the Rio Ferdinand references that he

1. Had already been involved in a £18 million transfer

2. Been England's best player at the 2002 WC

With a loan and transfer fee we paid £34m for lukaku.

The fact that stones is young and English bumps his price right up he's the future national team captain in waiting as well. £50m minimum . But even then I'd be sick if he left .

How long left on his contract?
Someone on this very forum only two days ago claimed the complete opposite of this mate. He claimed the £5m loan fee we owed Chelsea was actually included in the agreed £28m fee, so the actual purchase price of Lukaku was £23m (with only £3m of that paid up front, the rest over 4 years). I have no idea which one of you are correct (or if either of you are) but it just goes to show how hard it is to get actual facts from a forum

Oh yeah. I mean we all know how good Stones is of course. Any team would want him.

But Mourinho has said he wanted to give his youngsters more of a chance.

He will do mate, a chance on loan at other teams, he won't risk blooding a young player unless their nailed on certs as good enough right now - like stones is tbh

This is a silly line of thinking. I'm afraid football doesn't work like that.

Liverpool bought Carroll for £35m, doesn't that mean Lukaku should have cost above that considering he's a better player?

Yeah pretty much mate, glad you're on the same page
