John Stones transfer saga

DailyMail reporting that Chelsea have offered Stones the number 6 shirt.
Do you reckon we could ask Jags to change if that's the deal breaker?

Seriously though, as a club we have strong relations with Chelsea and Man Utd and we all know we will sell and we will get over it and in time we will hail a new star.
Come on guys, we are Everton fans and we know the score.
I would neg you into oblivion if I could.

He is staying mate this summer.

He'll definitely be off.

Maybe not for the £20m but they will up it and it we will accept it as we're a selling club now. Stones has played less than 50 games for us and is a kid from Barnsley with an offer from the champions, London life and a six-figure weekly wage. Anyone with no existing long-term affiliation with Everton would be off and anyone who thinks not is kidding themselves.

Sad, but true.

It wont be down to John Stones if he moves.

No player in the world stays at a club once they accept a bid from a better team.

or he could go there in 2-3 seasons, for even more money, keep his England Career, and be a first team starter....

Wouldn't accept £50 million for him. Chelsea could probably get a decent young CB for £30 million but Stones is that important to how we play. His absence would mean we'd need to bring 2 defenders in, which would lead to disruption in our team cohesion for at least the first half of the season. Mourinho might want to phase him slowly into the Chelsea team but Kurt Zouma played 5 premier league games at centre back last season.

In the run up to the Euros Stones would surely see that limiting his playing time would mean being unlikely to get a callup. Sadly we might see him leave afterwards, which I'm braced for but I think this offer is too early. Perversely being at a 'big club' might encourage Roy but he is still at a formative stage in his development and whenever I'm at Goodison to see him play I am impressed. I do not exaggerate when I say he could be a future England captain and the best centre back in the country, if not possibly one of the best in Europe. He is that good.

Selling Stone's is Everton saying we are not interested in success. Let Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool rec. battle it out for top positions, we will just unearth players for you and be happy to stay in the league.

Tell you what @davek and @MoutsGoat

IF Everton did sell him.

The season ticket is going back.

We may as well give up at that point

Who have we effectively been forced to sell in the last few years mate?
We weren't forced to sell Fellaini, £28m was a boss deal, woulda been stupid to accept.
Moyes sold Rodwell because he wanted too, wasn't forced.

The last players we were forced to sell were Arteta and Lescott and that was countless years ago.

On your last point, John Stones doesn't want to leave Everton Football Club (yet), not even for Chelsea.
